The Tarragona City Council reported yesterday that it is distributing 270 free parking cards for the staff of hospitals and nursing homes while the state of alarm for the coronavirus is in force. Specifically, the Municipal Company d’Aparcaments de Tarragona (AMT) offers 50 cards for municipal parking Saavedra; 50 for the Avinguda Catalunya; 80 in Joan XXIII’s; 80 more for Lluís Companys and 10 for Torroja.

The parking accreditations are distributed by the health personnel of the Joan XXIII and Santa Tecla hospitals, as well as for the workers of the Monegal clinic and the residences of La Mercè, Les Alzines and Sanitas; as well as for the employees of the social healthcare Francolí, located in the Parc Sanitari de Joan XXIII.

On the other hand, the Consistory assured yesterday that “it is very grateful” for the “disinterested” offer of 50 spaces in the Plaça de la Font car parks and 50 more in the Rambla Nova (Balcó) car parks by the company Pavapark and the Interparking company, which also manages an “unlimited” offer of places at the URV-Campus Catalunya.

Institutional statement

On the other hand, yesterday the spokesperson for the socialist municipal group, Sandra Ramos, put on the table a petition to approve an institutional declaration, in plenary session this Friday, “in gratitude and support for all the workers who are on the front lines fighting the Covid-19 ». The Tarragona PSC, with this initiative, wants to “thank, jointly with the rest of the political parties, all those sectors that are doing their best to ensure that citizens are healthy.”

Ramos believes that it is “fair” that all health, food, cleaning, communication and transport professionals receive institutional recognition. The socialist mayor explained that they present this proposal because “it is time to join to overcome this crisis”, adding that “the job that all parties have to do is to help, each contributing the knowledge they have and leaving aside the partisanships ».

The CUP tightens the rope for the garbage

The CUP made public yesterday its complaints to the municipal government about the garbage service since the state of alarm was decreed. “Since the confinement began, residents of different neighborhoods have sent us numerous complaints about the lack of cleanliness in the city: overflowing litter bins, saturated containers and a large number of plastic gloves and dog excrement on the streets,” said the cupaires in a statement. “On Friday we informed the Ricomà government of these complaints and expressed a double concern about it. On the one hand, towards the lack of cleanliness at a time that would have to be expanded to minimize contagion and, on the other hand, towards the need to guarantee that the company providing the service guarantees the protection of its personnel, providing them with PPE ”, they added.
